Iron Maiden Singer Bruce Dickinson to Sing National Anthem at Pittsburgh Steelers Home Opener

Cat’s out of the bag – Bruce Dickinson has confirmed he will be singing the National Anthem at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ home opener this Sunday at Acrisure Stadium.

Bruce made the announcement in an interview with Elizabeth Zharoff on The Charismatic Voice Podcast a few days ago. And word quickly began spreading underground (especially here in the Iron City, where traditional metal and Steelers go hand in hand).

Confirming the news on this morning’s DVE Morning show with Randy Baumann, co-host Abby Krizner was also kind enough to give a shoutout to Icarus Witch, opening the show for Bruce this Saturday night at Stage AE in Pittsburgh.

Listen to the announcement of Bruce’s Star Spangled Banner guest appearance with the Pittsburgh Steelers on this clip from this morning’s DVE Morning Show on 102.5 WDVE. (To hear the entire episode, go to the WDVE podcast on the iHeart Radio app).

Fun Fact: Icarus Witch will be the only band to have opened for all 3 Iron Maiden singers:

• Two North American tours as Paul DiAnno’s opening band and backing band (2010 – 2011)

• Icarus Witch played Headbangers Open Air Festival in Hamburg, Germany in 2022, which Blaze Bayley headlined

• Icarus Witch are direct support to Bruce Dickinson for his 2025 tour stop at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE

Icarus Witch gets a shoutout from the WDVE Morning Show crew as they announce that Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson will be singing the National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers home opener.
